Athandie Mvusi (SOUTH AFRICA)

Athandie Mvusi was born in Ixopo, KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. She grew up in the Eastern Cape in
Umtata and attended her academic studies there. Athandie completed her academic studies in
marketing and business management. Athandie Mvusi is a urban contemporary house singer and
songwriter with a vibrant, fresh and unique sound. Athandie is passionate about marketing, digital
marketing, branding, social media, music and the entertainment industry.
Athandie began her musical journey back in the Eastern Cape. Her musical journey in the Eastern Cape
afforded her an opportunity to travel overseas which was a life changing experience. “The music trip
was very interesting, it was a life changing opportunity which I will never forget as it exposed me to
how other countries function and how our unique African sound is greatly embraced overseas. The
trip indeed made me fall in love with music which has stayed with me throughout my journey. Music
really brings healing, it is one thing that is able to unite us no matter where we come from”. Athandie
Mvusi continues to write new songs and loves making music. Athandie has been featured on various
shows on radio and a guest DJ on TruFM. In 2022 Athandie was nominated for the 9th Ingoma
Independent National Gospel Music Awards for best gospel house song and best song writer/
composer category.
Athandie released her album in 2022 a project called “Stop Gender Based Violence”. The album has
12 tracks and is unique, fresh and dynamic seeking to capture the hearts of her listeners. The album
is available on all digital platforms.
